President & CEO
Ted Griggs is the founder, Director, and Chief Executive Officer of
Syndeo Corporation.
Prior to Syndeo, he was founder and President of Junction, developing a
next-generation telecommunications open switch that combined TDM and
voice packet infrastructure. In 1998, Junction was sold to Cisco
Systems, Inc.
Before creating Junction, Ted was co-founder of The Renaissance Group,
Inc. Renaissance built a flexible enhanced service platform that
incorporated T1/E1, ISDN, and SS7 interfaces to create value-add
services. These products are currently being resold by Motorola,
Nortel, and AG Communications Systems, among others.
Ted sold Renaissance to Precision Systems, Inc. where he became its
Chief Technology Officer. At Precision Systems, Ted was instrumental in
getting investment from Vulcan Ventures and making Precision a Paul
Allen company.
He is also the co-founder of the Internet Gaming Zone, which was sold to
Microsoft and is now the cornerstone of its online gaming strategy. Ted received a degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Vice President of Marketing
Jeff's 20 years in networking industry marketing has involved extensive experience in synthesizing complex technical and market issues to promote product development and broader market understanding. As director of corporate marketing at Cisco Systems and one of
that company's first 100 employees, he helped define and promote the value of then-arcane networking technology, incidentally creating the now universally used router icon to identify Cisco technology in complex network diagrams.
Jeff comes to Syndeo directly from Magellan Network Systems, a provider of enhanced telecom services platforms and founding member of the International Softswitch Consortium, where he was vice president of marketing. Jeff has also been VP of marketing for Network Tools and Eicon Technology. In addition to his six-year tenure at Cisco, Jeff has held senior marketing positions at Tolerant Systems (now Veritas Software), General Instrument and Intel.
A founding editor of IEEE Software magazine, Jeff is an active member of the IEEE Computer Society and the Applications Working Group of the International Softswitch Consortium, as well as an experienced international public speaker. He holds a B.A. degree in Communications from Brown University and an M.A. in Communications from the University of Texas at Austin.

Vice President of Engineering
Sohail Parekh is the co-founder and Vice President of Engineering at Syndeo Corporation. Prior to Syndeo he was the co-founder and Senior Systems Architect at Junction, Inc. developing next-generation telecommunication switching infrastructure. Before creating Junction, he was Technical Manager of the Advanced Technologies Group at Precision Systems, Inc., responsible for the development of next-generation telecommunication products.
In addition, Sohail has worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Grumman Data Systems, managing the Super Computing Center at Johnson Space Center (NASA) and sharpening his skills in the field of distributed computing and high-capacity data networks.
Sohail brings to Syndeo a brilliant understanding of redundant architecture, fault-tolerance, and distributed systems. He is extremely well versed in a variety of operating systems, programming languages, networks, networking protocols, and telecommunication protocols. With experience that is both broad and deep, he is well placed to control the overall direction of Syndeo's engineering efforts. Sohail received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from University of Houston.

Ron Abelmann, a successful 35-year veteran of the high technology industry, is the Chairman, President and CEO of CyberStateU.com, the first company to deliver technical certification training via the Web.
CyberStateU.com is the leading interactive e-learning company, having delivered more
than 50,000 distance learning courses to IT professionals and computer telephony
specialists worldwide.
Previously, Ron was President and CEO of Wind River Systems, Inc., the leading provider of real-time operating systems, integrated software development tools and engineering services for embedded applications. At Wind River, Ron was one of the key
architects behind the company's success and is credited with boosting earnings by an annual average of over 40%. During his five-year tenure, revenue grew from approximately $20M to over $150M and operating profits grew from breakeven to over 20%.
Prior to joining Wind River Systems, Ron was President and CEO of Vantage Analysis Systems, the first and leading supplier of VHDL simulation tools for electronic design of systems and silicon. Ron grew this company from inception to $15M in highly profitable revenues
and very successfully sold the company to a growing public EDA company.
Ron also serves as a member of the board of directors of Mobilsys Inc., Antrim Design Systems Inc. and Wind River Systems Inc. He holds a master's degree in applied physics from UCLA and an MBA from Stanford University.

Board Member
Dick Liebhaber is a Consulting Managing Director at Veronis, Suhler & Associates, the New York Media Merchant Banking firm. He serves on the Board of Directors of KPN/Qwest, Advanced Radio Telecommunications, AVICI Systems, Internet Communications Corporation, Rare Medium Group and Alcatel USA, and serves on the Advisory Board of Corning.
Over the past 5 years Dick has served as a director on a number of technology development companies including Transmedia Communications, which was recently acquired by Cisco, Objective Communications and Promatory Communications, recently acquired by NORTEL.
In addition to Syndeo Corporation, Dick serves as an advisor and Board member of a number of technology and networking efforts including Corvia, Telera, Sylantro Systems, Linguateq and serves as a member of the Advisory Boards to Telesoft Partners and Polaris Venture Capital Partners.
Dick has served as a consultant to The Anschutz Company in Denver, Colorado in formulating the Qwest Telecommunications Network model and served on the Board of Qwest Communications from the inception of the company.
Prior to his position with Veronis, Suhler & Associates, he was employed by MCI as Executive Vice President. Dick was given the responsibility to architect, engineer, construct and maintain MCI's network and its operational and management information infrastructure. In addition, he was responsible for business development and strategy management for the company. Dick served on the MCI Board of Directors from 1992 to his retirement in 1995.
Dick began his career as an engineering trainee at IBM, where he subsequently became IBM's Director of Business Policy and Development. Among his accomplishments in that position, Liebhaber represented IBM in the establishment of a joint venture that became Prodigy.

Board Member Russ Pillar, President and Chief Executive Officer CBS Internet Group. Russ Pillar was named President and Chief Executive Officer of the CBS Internet Group, a new division at CBS, in January 2000. In this role, Pillar is responsible for creating value for CBS shareholders both through the continuing development of CBS' existing online sites as well as the management and growth of CBS's portfolio of equity stakes in independent Internet companies. Prior to joining CBS, Pillar was President and Chief Executive Officer of Richard Branson's Virgin Entertainment Group, where he charted the growth of the Virgin brand in a variety of entertainment and e-commerce-related consumer markets in North America. He managed 1,600 employees across the United States and Canada and drove global strategic planning and brand management as a member of the Group's International Management Board. He also created and managed Virgin Ventures, through which Virgin obtained equity stakes in more than a half-dozen Internet companies that offer products or services that benefit Virgin brand loyalists. Prior to joining Virgin, Pillar led the turnaround of pioneer online service provider Prodigy Internet, where he served as its President, Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of its Board of Directors. He joined Prodigy's Board as part of the investor group that had purchased it from IBM and Sears in 1996. Once its chief executive, he effected changes that garnered both PC Magazine's
and Editor's Choice Award for Best Internet Service Provider' and PC World's Best Offering Among Competitive Internet Service Providers' awards. Pillar is a Phi Beta Kappa, cum laude graduate of Brown University. He is an active member of the Young Presidents' Organization and the Council on Foreign Relations and is a founding member of the State of New York's Governor's Task Force on New Media and the Internet. In addition to representing CBS on the Boards of SportsLine, MarketWatch, and Switchboard, among other portfolio investments, he serves on the boards of a number of emerging technology
companies.

Board Member
John Walecka is a founding partner of Redpoint Ventures. Prior to founding Redpoint, John was a general partner with Brentwood Venture Capital since 1984.
John currently focuses on the core infrastructure and application
services areas revolving around the next generation broadband Internet.
John is involved in major platform companies such as: Avici Networks,
Transmedia Communications (acquired by Cisco), Optimight
Communications, Lightera Networks (acquired by Ciena), Promatory
Communications and Netro (NTRO). He is also working to enable
semiconductor products companies including StratumOne (acquired by
Cisco) and MultiLink Communications. In the services, software and
commerce areas, John has led investments in Rhythms NetConnections
(RTHM), SolNet.com, Syndeo Corporation and Solipsa.
John has also been involved in a number of very successful
companies in the enterprise infrastructure space. Key investments in the
network products area include: Xylan, Wellfleet Communications (merged
into Bay Networks), Synernetics (acquired by 3Com), Agile Networks
(acquired by Lucent), Network Equipment Technologies (NETX), Polycom (PLCM) and
Onstream (acquired by 3Com). John has also actively worked with
many of the leading software infrastructure companies, including Sybase
(SYBS), Documentum (DCTM), Object Design (ODIS) and Vitria
Technology (VITR).
John also serves as Director of the Western Association of Venture
Capitalists (WAVC). Prior to joining Brentwood, John worked at
Hewlett-Packard and the Stanford University Smart Product Design
Laboratory.
John received a B.S. and an M.S. in Engineering from Stanford
University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

In addition to obtaining ISO 9001 certification prior to even demonstrating its products, Syndeo has put together an extraordinarily strong technical advisory board. This group of carrier and equipment provider veterans has the charter to make certain that all of Syndeo's products and services not only meet the feature/benefit demands of the global service provider marketplace, but also meet the reliability and scalability standards required for this demanding customer base.
Currently, Syndeo's Technical Advisory Board comprises industry veterans from CLECs, DSL providers, such as Covad, equipment manufacturers, including Cisco Systems and Lucent Technologies, and major industry analysts and luminaries.
